Historic Rosehill Cemetery

Founded in 1859, the 350-acre Rosehill Cemetery is the largest of Chicago’s cemeteries. The historic Gothic-style entry gate transports visitors from urban bustle into a serene, park-like setting. As you explore the grounds, you’ll discover Victorian-era architecture, breathtaking statuary, monuments, and a grand mausoleum, as well as a beautiful and environmentally important tree canopy.

Beyond its role as a non-denominational final resting place, Rosehill Cemetery is a destination for the community to gather. It serves as an outdoor museum, event venue, architectural treasure trove, and record of Chicago’s past.
